I have my logo, what next?

I have my logo, what next?

So… you have a lovely, shiny new logo, hopefully as part of a powerful identity with a brand guideline to match!  But what do you do with your new logo and identity?

There’s a lot of sites and places that your new logo will need to be uploaded to, all at different scales and versions, so it’s important to have these files in an easy to use brand pack.

The more you can improve your brand development and get your new identity out there, the more people will start to become familiar with it and, in turn, familiar with you.  Ideally, when they reach a point where they need your services or your product, they’ll already have a good idea of who you are and subconsciously attribute positive values to your brand.

Social media

Your social media accounts will probably need a new profile image and header image where applicable. If your logo is well designed, you will have an undetailed version that will scale down to a nice small size for your profile image. On most platforms, this will be cropped to a small circle, so make sure there’s enough space around your logo for it not to have it’s corners chopped off.

Business Stationery

Business cards, letter heads, compliment slips aren’t as popular as they once were, but you’ll probably need them. A digital letterhead is useful for any pdfs you might produce. Your business card can also be interpreted into an email signature, so it’s worth getting all of these things right.

Merchandise

Stickers, badges, tote bags etc. are all great ways to spread your brand around, especially if you are looking to attend some exhibitions or events. If anyone uses your bag whilst they’re shopping, for instance, they’re a walking advert for your new identity!

Website

If you have a website (if not, why not?) this will need your new logo added. It’s likely time for a bit of a design refresh to incorporate elements of your brand identity throughout the design of the site.

Clothing, Uniforms?

Do your staff wear uniforms? Do you have t-shirts to wear at events? A version of your logo that can be embroidered or printed onto clothing is very useful. An overcomplicated or low quality logo file will lead to poor ineffective results.

Printed Material

Do you need a brochure detailing your services? Flyers for potential clients and customers to pickup? This is a great way to get your new identity out there under people’s noses.

So, don’t be afraid, it’s time to get yourself out there!
