Facial recognition begins early in child development, and as we grow we continue to build many of our most important relationships through face to face contact. Yet in this modern world where the inexorable rise of social media means business relationships can begin with connection on linkedin, a comment on a website or a tweet; where growing companies operate from multiple offices, and partnerships are built via email; face to face contact could arguably be considered to be on the decline.
This means that it is becoming of vital importance that simple things like our chosen headshot photo on these social media platforms work for us, humanising and personalising our digital communications, enabling us to build these all important relationships with ease.
A headshot photo can say a lot about you!
A headshot can support your message, adding nuance and helping to build on your personal brand or the brand of your company.
But if it’s poorly taken, out of context, or unprofessional, it can also undermine your message. Negative examples of this might include holiday shots, heady with sunburn and sangria, pictures of your dogs or children etc.
Your headshot photo should be of you, lit properly, well composed and taken from more than the arm’s length of a selfie.
You could be the hands-on MD on the shop floor in front of a powerful new machine, or you might plumb for the elegant and understated photo against a white background. I would suggest that there is even sometime an argument for having both.
Or maybe you are a politician who needs a strong photo that locates you to your constituency?
Or indeed an image that places you in the home, and reflects you as the more approachable person that you actually are.
Maybe you are looking to build your brand explicitly …
Or suggest something about your brand implicitly …

Here are some more examples of headshot photos we have taken for various clients, all of which say something about the person or organisation they work for.
As a company that goes beyond stand alone photography services, a company that offers, and profoundly understands the importance of branding, at F8 Creates we know how to take the best possible headshot photo for your business communications. And not only this, but we make taking them as painless as possible.
So if you want to get you or your team’s image up to date we can help!
