We have recently been asked to do a selection of Magazine advert designs for one of our clients, Marchwood. As a photography equipment and optics distributor, one of the brands they work with are the American optics manufacturer Sightmark. The advert to be put together is for a range of Sightmark’s Rifle Scopes and is to be published in various UK shooting mags.
Charlotte, from Marchwood, had popped into the office to brief us on what she wanted us to achieve in the adverts, as well as pass on relevant graphics and photos we could use. After having looked through the stock of shots the manufacturer had available, it became clear that the photo for the design we had in mind didn’t exist yet.
For many other design companies this might mean going back to the drawing board. Fortunately for us, we have our own photography studio, so this was not the case. Conveniently, Charlotte had one of the scopes in the back of the car that she could leave with us to shoot. This enabled us to not only take the exact shot required for the advert design we had in mind, but also gave us the opportunity to take a selection of other shots in the same style; some of which you can see below.
It also gave us the opportunity to take a slightly more fancy shot of the scope on a black background you can see at the top of this post… of course this photo might prove useful at some stage, but in all honesty, we mostly took it just to show off the sort of photography we are capable of!
